Brokaro

Overall score = the sum of every sub-score multiplied by its weight, rounded to one decimal. Our automated data checks verify consistency with this formula. They check the arithmetic, not the factual accuracy of every sub-score.
On category pages such as "Best forex brokers" the ranking is re-weighted: day traders care about cost and platform, not education. The category-specific score is blended 70:30 with the general overall score so a strong all-rounder is not sunk by one weakness. The weighting used is shown on every category page.
Alongside the safety sub-score we compute a 0–100 group index from recorded licences, public listing, banking licence, segregation, negative balance protection, audited accounts and company age. Disclosed regulatory actions reduce it. The model uses the group's strongest licence and does not know which entity holds your account. A high value therefore does not establish your investor protection. The licence and compensation arrangements of the entity actually holding your account are what matter.

We research broker information using official pricing schedules, legal documents and other available sources. The coverage and origin of the evidence vary by broker. Each record shows its data date, sources and human verification status.
Primary source first. Fees come from the broker's pricing schedule, not from marketing material.
Missing values stay empty. Where a fee is not publicly documented we show "n/a" — we do not estimate a number.
Entity named. Terms differ by legal entity. We record the main retail entity's figures and say which one it is.
Unverified until checked. Every record counts as unverified until a human has reconciled it against the pricing schedule. That status is visible on each broker page.
Pricing schedules are reviewed regularly. When a broker changes its terms we update the record and reset the data date. If you spot something stale, tell us — it is the fastest way to improve the database.

Brokaro is funded by partner commissions. We disclose it because that is the only honest way to handle it — and because you should know where our interest lies.
The ranking is arithmetic. It falls out of the scoring model published above. Commission size is not an input — it simply does not appear in the formula.
Brokers with no partner programme are listed. If a provider is the best for a use case, it appears there whether or not we earn from it.
No paid placement. A place in this ranking cannot be bought; we decline requests of that kind. Labelled advertising slots are bookable, but they sit outside the scoring and do not change it.
Criticism stays. Drawbacks are named, including for partners. A review with no criticism is worthless.
User reviews are separate. Community ratings do not feed our editorial score and are reported separately.
Advertising disclosure: where a partnership is active, we may earn a commission through broker links. The provider’s terms apply. Commissions do not influence our ratings; paid placements are separately labelled as sponsored.

No scoring model is neutral — every weighting is an opinion about what matters. These are ours, and they have limits:
Weights are assumptions. If you only run ETF savings plans, the options platform is irrelevant to you. Use the category rankings, whose weighting matches the specific use case.
Fees change. The schedule may have moved between our data date and the day you open an account. Always verify critical numbers with the broker.
Terms are regional. The same brand name can mean different fees, licences and protection levels in two countries.
Qualitative scores are judgements. Platform, research and service ratings are editorial assessments based on researched information. They do not claim that we opened an account or practically tested every broker.
We are not investment advice. We compare providers, not investment strategies.
