Our verdict
Exness is for the trader who has already decided that execution quality and withdrawal speed matter more than statutory protection. On cost it is close to the top of the market: Raw Spread lands at roughly USD 7 round turn on a standard lot with 0.0 pip quotes, Zero goes lower still on its thirty headline instruments, and there is no inactivity fee to erode a dormant balance. The instant-withdrawal system is not marketing — it is automated and it works around the clock, which is genuinely rare. Set against that: the entity holding your money is almost certainly Exness (SC) Ltd in Seychelles, where no investor compensation scheme exists; the FCA and CySEC licences apply to institutional business only and EEA retail applicants are not onboarded at all; the product range is narrow at roughly 240 symbols with no ETFs, bonds, options or futures; and copy trading is being wound down. Choose Exness for cost-sensitive, high-frequency FX and gold trading. Do not choose it if you want a regulated European venue, a broad multi-asset portfolio, or a compensation fund behind your balance.
Best for
- High-frequency FX traders
- Cost-sensitive scalping
- Instant withdrawals
- Gold and metals
- Emerging-market payment rails
Less suitable for
- EU and UK residents
- Multi-asset investors
- Compensation-scheme seekers
- Copy-trading users
- Beginners using high leverage
Pros & cons
Pros
7- Raw Spread account prices majors at 0.0 pips for up to USD 3.50 per lot per side, and the Zero account starts from USD 0.20 per side on 30 headline instruments
- Automated withdrawals process 24/7 and are typically instant back to the original method, with no Exness-side fee in either direction
- No inactivity fee at all — a dormant balance is not eroded, unlike at most competitors
- Standard account opens from around USD 10 with no commission and typical EUR/USD spreads of 0.8–1.0 pips
- Exness Terminal is a real in-house web platform on a TradingView chart engine, not a MetaTrader skin, and the mobile app includes drag-to-modify stops and a built-in risk calculator
- Publishes audited group financial statements — unusual transparency for an offshore-licensed broker
- 24/7 support across roughly fifteen languages with fast first-response times
Cons
6- The retail entity is Exness (SC) Ltd under the Seychelles FSA (SD025) — a tier-3 licence with no investor compensation scheme behind it
- The FCA (730729) and CySEC (178/12) licences cover institutional and professional business only; EEA and UK retail clients are not onboarded, which rules Exness out for most German, Austrian and Swiss-resident readers
- Narrow product range: roughly 240 symbols on the web terminal with no ETFs, bonds, mutual funds, exchange-traded options or futures
- Copy trading is being phased out and is no longer taking new users, removing a feature many clients originally signed up for
- The proprietary terminal still lacks OCO orders, trailing stops and depth of market — you have to fall back to MetaTrader 5 for those
- Leverage marketed as unlimited is a real risk amplifier for inexperienced traders, and the Seychelles entity carries none of the ESMA-style guardrails

The Seychelles entity defaults to 1:2000 and advertises unlimited leverage once equity and trade-count conditions are met. Exotic pairs, indices, energies, stocks and crypto are capped far lower. The FCA and CySEC entities do not onboard retail clients, so the ESMA 1:30 cap is not the route most customers take — and neither is its protection.

Full review: Exness
This review is based on official pricing schedules, legal documents and other available sources. It does not claim that we opened an account with this broker or tested it in practice.
Fees and what they cost in practice
Exness competes on price and it wins more often than not.
Standard is the commission-free default. Quotes start from 0.3 pips and the typical EUR/USD spread measures 0.8–1.0 pips in normal conditions, which is roughly USD 8–10 round turn on a standard lot with nothing else to pay.
Raw Spread quotes 0.0 pips and charges a capped commission of up to USD 3.50 per lot per side — USD 7 round turn. Zero guarantees 0.0 pips on thirty headline instruments and charges from USD 0.20 per side, which on the right symbols is among the cheapest retail pricing available anywhere. Pro sits between them: instant execution, spreads from 0.1 pips, no commission.
What is genuinely unusual is the absence of everything else. No inactivity fee. No deposit fee. No Exness-side withdrawal fee, at any volume, on any method — third-party processors may still take a cut. For a trader who parks capital between campaigns, that structure is worth more than a fractionally tighter spread.
Swaps are charged per instrument and swap-free status is available on many accounts and regions. The realistic cost comparison: on EUR/USD, Raw Spread at USD 7 round turn undercuts most CySEC-regulated ECN accounts, and it does so without an activity requirement to keep it.
Safety and regulation
This is the part of the Exness story that the marketing compresses, and it deserves to be uncompressed.
Exness holds licences in several jurisdictions, but they are not interchangeable:
- Exness (SC) Ltd — Seychelles FSA, SD025. This is the retail entity. It is also FSCA-authorised in South Africa as an OTC derivatives provider. There is no investor compensation scheme in Seychelles.
- Exness (UK) Ltd — FCA 730729. Institutional and professional business only; retail clients are not onboarded, so FSCS cover of GBP 85,000 is not available to ordinary customers.
- Exness (Cy) Ltd — CySEC 178/12, operating exness.eu. Professional and institutional only; EEA retail applicants are not accepted.
- Exness B.V. — Central Bank of Curacao and Sint Maarten, 0003LSI.
- Exness (VG) Ltd — BVI FSC (BVI company registration 2032226; no licence number could be verified on the register).
On the credit side, Exness segregates client money, applies negative balance protection, has traded since 2008, and publishes audited group financial statements — a transparency step almost no offshore-licensed competitor takes. Reported monthly volumes running into the trillions of dollars give a sense of scale.
But scale is not protection. If you are resident in the EEA or the UK, Exness is not offering you a regulated retail relationship at all. Read that sentence twice before funding.
Trading platforms
Exness is one of the few brokers in this bracket that built something of its own worth using.
Exness Terminal is a browser platform on a TradingView chart engine with more than a hundred indicators, a modular layout and responsive order entry. It is quick and it looks like a 2026 product rather than a 2012 one. The gaps are real though: no OCO orders, no trailing stops, no depth of market. For anything structurally dependent on those, you are back on MetaTrader.
MetaTrader 5 carries the widest symbol list — around 348 instruments against roughly 239 on the web terminal — plus the full order-type set and the strategy tester. MetaTrader 4 is retained mainly so the existing expert-advisor ecosystem keeps working.
Exness Trade, the mobile app, is the standout. Drag-to-modify stop and target levels, an integrated position-size and risk calculator, and withdrawal requests from the same screen you trade on. It is one of the few broker apps that does not feel like a compromised version of the desktop product.
TradingView integration covers charting and, in supported regions, order routing. What is absent: a native desktop application and any public REST or FIX API outside MetaTrader.
Markets and products
The range is the clearest weakness. Exness lists roughly 239 symbols on its own terminal and 348 on MT5, and independent counts break down as approximately:
- Forex — 78 pairs on the Exness Terminal in ForexBrokers.com's count, with other sources citing up to 96 depending on account type. Majors, minors and a solid exotic list.
- Share CFDs — around 100 names, overwhelmingly US large-caps.
- Crypto CFDs — about 30, traded 24/7.
- Indices — around 10 cash index CFDs.
- Metals and energies — gold, silver, platinum, palladium and the main oil and gas contracts. Gold is a genuine strength here on both pricing and liquidity.
What is missing matters more than what is present: no ETFs, no bonds, no mutual funds, no exchange-traded options, no futures, no cash equities. Ten index CFDs is a thin list next to the twenty-plus most multi-regulated competitors carry, and one hundred share CFDs will not support a diversified equity view.
Copy trading is being wound down and is no longer onboarding new users, so treat Exness Social Trading as a legacy feature rather than a reason to sign up. This is a specialist FX-and-metals venue that happens to list some equities, and it should be judged as one.
Account opening and funding
Onboarding is among the fastest in the industry — the application takes under ten minutes and verification usually clears the same day once identity and address documents are uploaded.
Minimums are set by payment method and region rather than by a single global rule. In practice the Standard and Standard Cent accounts open from around USD 10, while Pro, Zero and Raw Spread are commonly documented at USD 200. Some regional pages quote materially higher figures — a few list USD 100 and USD 1,000 respectively — so check the number on your own regional site before assuming.
Funding covers cards, bank transfer, crypto, Skrill, Neteller and a deep bench of local rails including regional wallets that matter enormously in South and Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America. Base currencies centre on USD, EUR and GBP, with a long list of local currencies available depending on region.
The withdrawal system is the headline feature and it holds up: requests are processed automatically, typically instantly, 24 hours a day including weekends, back to the original funding method. There is no Exness-side fee at any volume. Third-party processors sometimes charge their own. Compared with brokers that batch withdrawals into business-day cycles, this is a structural advantage rather than a marketing line.
Research and education
Research is functional rather than deep, and it has been getting thinner.
The offering is essentially aggregation: Trading Central signals, an FXStreet news feed and an economic calendar, surfaced inside the terminal and the app. That is a reasonable baseline — Trading Central output is respectable technical analysis and having it in-platform saves a tab — but there is no in-house strategy desk, no proprietary equity coverage and no research anyone would seek out on its own merits.
Education has materially contracted over the past year. What remains has largely migrated to YouTube: the Trading Talks podcast, the Born To Trade series and platform explainers. Structured courses, progress tracking and quizzes are absent. Next to XM, which staffs live webinars in more than thirty languages, this is a clear gap, and it is a strange one for a broker whose default leverage settings are as aggressive as these.
The demo account is unrestricted and mirrors live pricing, which remains the most useful learning tool on offer. If you need to be taught how to trade, Exness is not the venue that will teach you — and given the leverage on offer, arriving here already trained is not optional.
Customer support
Support runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through live chat, email and phone. That is a meaningful step above the 24/5 desks most CFD brokers staff, and it matches a client base concentrated in time zones that Western brokers cover badly.
Language coverage runs to fourteen languages, deliberately weighted towards the markets Exness actually serves: English, Arabic, Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Swahili, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian and Turkish. Notably absent from that list is any real depth in German, French or Italian — consistent with the fact that EEA retail clients are not onboarded in the first place.
CompareForexBrokers.com rates the customer service and support options as good.
The strongest external signal is public sentiment. Exness carries one of the highest Trustpilot scores in the sector at roughly 4.7 out of 5 across tens of thousands of reviews, with withdrawal speed the single most repeated theme. Read those reviews with the usual caution about incentivised feedback in this industry, but the volume and the consistency are hard to dismiss.
Frequently asked questions
It holds licences in both — FCA number 730729 for Exness (UK) Ltd and CySEC 178/12 for Exness (Cy) Ltd — but neither serves retail clients. Both entities are authorised for institutional and professional business, and EEA and UK retail applicants are not onboarded. If you are resident in Germany, Austria, Switzerland or the UK, Exness is effectively not offering you a regulated retail account. Almost all retail business worldwide runs through Exness (SC) Ltd under the Seychelles FSA licence SD025.
On the Seychelles entity, no statutory protection. There is no investor compensation scheme in Seychelles, so a firm failure would leave you as an ordinary creditor. What you do have is contractual and operational: client money is held in segregated accounts, negative balance protection means a retail account cannot go below zero, and Exness publishes audited group financial statements, which is more transparency than most offshore-licensed brokers offer. Those are real safeguards, but none of them is a compensation fund.
The Standard account is commission-free with typical EUR/USD spreads of 0.8–1.0 pips, roughly USD 8–10 round turn per standard lot. Raw Spread quotes 0.0 pips and charges up to USD 3.50 per lot per side, so about USD 7 round turn. The Zero account guarantees 0.0 pips on thirty headline instruments from USD 0.20 per side. On top of that: no inactivity fee, no deposit fee and no Exness-side withdrawal fee at any volume.
In the large majority of cases, yes. The system is automated rather than manually reviewed, runs 24/7 including weekends, and returns funds to the original deposit method. Card and e-wallet withdrawals commonly complete in seconds to minutes; bank transfers are constrained by the banking rails at the far end rather than by Exness. Compliance checks can still hold a first withdrawal or an unusual pattern, and third-party processors may add fees Exness does not control.
On the Seychelles entity the default cap is 1:2000, and Exness advertises unlimited leverage once conditions on account equity and trade count are satisfied. It applies to a subset of instruments only — exotic pairs, indices, energies, stocks and crypto are capped far lower. Practically, leverage beyond a few hundred to one changes nothing about how much you should risk per trade; it only reduces required margin. Treat it as a margin-efficiency feature, not a position-sizing invitation.
Not as a new user. Exness Social Trading is being phased out and is no longer onboarding new participants, so if copy trading is central to your plan you should look at a broker where it is an actively developed product rather than a legacy one. Existing users should read the wind-down communications carefully and plan how open copied positions will be handled.
