Our verdict
Libertex is easier to understand than most CFD brokers and harder to recommend without caveats. The commission model is honest — you see exactly what you pay rather than hunting for it inside a spread — and at roughly 1.3 pips all-in on EUR/USD the total is mid-table rather than cheap. The EUR 10 minimum deposit is genuinely accessible, the 2024 Invest account gives you real share ownership commission-free, and 1,313 share CFDs plus 109 crypto CFDs is a respectable book. But the money-movement costs are the worst part of this record: a 2.5% fee on card deposits, up to 4% on Neteller, and withdrawal charges on most methods. Paying to put money in is close to indefensible at a regulated European broker in 2026. Add a EUR 10 monthly inactivity fee and a documented 2021 CySEC suspension over CFD marketing compliance, and the picture is of a competent but flawed operator. Consider it if you want transparent commission pricing, a tiny starting balance, or the Invest account. Look elsewhere if you fund by card, if you move money in and out regularly, or if you want the cheapest possible FX execution.
Best for
- Transparent-pricing traders
- Very small starting balances
- Crypto CFD traders
- MetaTrader users
- Commission-free real shares
Less suitable for
- Card-funded accounts
- Frequent depositors and withdrawers
- Mobile-first traders
- Beginners needing structured education
Pros & cons
Pros
8- Transparent commission model — EUR 5 per side per lot on the Libertex platform instead of a hidden spread markup
- EUR 10 minimum deposit is one of the lowest entry points among CySEC-regulated brokers
- Libertex Invest, launched 2024, offers real exchange-traded shares commission-free with no inactivity fee
- 1,573 tradeable symbols including 1,313 share CFDs, 109 crypto CFDs, 46 FX pairs and 23 ETFs
- Group track record since 1997 under the Forex Club name — one of the longer histories in retail FX
- Full MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 support alongside the proprietary platform
- Volume-based commission discounts of 10%, 30% and 50% at EUR 1,500, 10,000 and 50,000 deposited
- Trading Central signals are integrated directly into the platform at no extra charge
Cons
6- 2.5% fee on credit and debit card deposits (and 4% on Neteller) — paying to fund an account is a serious mark against a regulated broker
- Withdrawal fees on most methods: EUR 1 by card, 0.5% (min EUR 2, max EUR 10) by bank transfer, 1% via Neteller
- CySEC partially suspended the licence of operator Indication Investments in August 2021 over CFD marketing compliance; lifted after three weeks, but it is on the record
- All-in EUR/USD cost of roughly 1.3 pips is mid-table, so the commission model buys transparency rather than savings
- Mobile app is materially weaker than the web platform, lacking technical indicators and drawing tools
- Education is minimal with no structured curriculum or progress tracking, and no native copy trading through the EU-regulated entity

Full review: Libertex
This review is based on official pricing schedules, legal documents and other available sources. It does not claim that we opened an account with this broker or tested it in practice.
Fees and what they cost in practice
Libertex inverts the standard CFD model. Instead of burying its margin in a widened spread, it quotes near-zero spreads and charges an explicit commission. That is a genuinely better structure for anyone who wants to know what they are paying — but transparency and cheapness are not the same thing.
Trading costs. EUR/USD carries an average spread of about 0.3 pips, plus commission of EUR 5 per side per lot on the Libertex platform (quoted on the website as roughly 0.005%) or EUR 6 per side on MT4/MT5. The all-in cost works out to roughly 1.3 pips equivalent on a round-trip. That is mid-table: cheaper than Markets.com, meaningfully more expensive than the tightest commission-free competitors. So the commission model here buys clarity, not savings.
Volume tiers help if you fund heavily: Platinum cuts commission 10% at EUR 1,500 deposited, VIP 30% at EUR 10,000, and Exclusive 50% at EUR 50,000.
Money-movement costs are the real problem, and they are unusual enough to state bluntly:
- Credit/debit card deposit: 2.5% (minimum USD 0.50)
- Skrill deposit: 1.9% — Neteller deposit: 4.0%
- Bank wire deposit: free
- Withdrawals: EUR 1 flat by card; 0.5% (min EUR 2, max EUR 10) by SEPA or international transfer; 1% via Neteller; free via PayPal and Skrill
Charging 2.5% to accept your money is close to indefensible at a regulated European broker in 2026, when the direct competition funds and withdraws free. Deposit EUR 1,000 by card and you are down EUR 25 before your first trade — roughly two and a half round-trip lots of EUR/USD commission, spent on nothing.
Finally, an inactivity fee of EUR 10 per month applies after roughly 180 days on CFD accounts. The Invest account is exempt. Some secondary sources cite a 90-day trigger; confirm the figure in your own client agreement.
Safety and regulation
Libertex is the trading brand of Indication Investments Ltd, a Cyprus Investment Firm (registration HE 290930) authorised by CySEC under licence 164/12 and headquartered in Limassol. This is the entity that serves EEA and Swiss clients under MiFID passporting, and eligible retail clients are covered by the Cypriot Investor Compensation Fund up to EUR 20,000. Client funds are segregated and negative balance protection applies to retail accounts.
The wider group also holds licences with the FSCA in South Africa, the FSC in Mauritius and the VFSC in Vanuatu. The last two are offshore, light-touch regimes with no compensation scheme, and the offshore entities advertise leverage as high as 1:999 — a number that should be read as a risk warning, not a feature. Establish which entity your account sits under before funding.
There are two disclosed regulatory incidents, and both should weigh on your decision. The earlier one: CySEC settled with Indication Investments Ltd for EUR 160,000 following a board decision of 9 March 2020, announced on 29 May 2020, after an on-site inspection carried out in 2018. On 3 August 2021, CySEC partially suspended the CIF licence of Indication Investments Ltd, citing possible failures to comply with the framework restricting the marketing, distribution and sale of CFDs to retail clients. For the duration, the firm could not take on new clients, could not advertise its services directly or through third parties, and could not accept new deposits from existing clients. The suspension was recalled on 23 August 2021 after the firm gave commitments on compliant marketing and ongoing compliance monitoring.
Context matters in both directions. The suspension was short, it concerned marketing practices rather than client funds, and it was resolved by agreement. But it is a regulator formally stopping a firm from doing business, and it is the kind of fact a broker's own marketing will never surface.
On the positive side of the ledger: the group has operated since 1997, originally under the Forex Club brand, which is a considerably longer track record than most competitors in this bracket. It is not publicly listed, so financial disclosure is limited.
Trading platforms
There are effectively four environments, and they differ more than at most brokers.
The Libertex proprietary web platform is built around the commission pricing model and is deliberately simplified. Instrument selection, position sizing and the commission preview are all clear, and a newcomer will be placing orders within minutes. The trade-off is depth: order types are the basic retail set, and there is no depth-of-market ladder or advanced conditional structure. Trading Central signals are integrated directly into the platform at no extra cost, which is a real value-add at this price point.
The mobile app is the weakest link. It is clean and approachable, but it is missing technical indicators and drawing tools that the web platform provides — a serious limitation if you intend to analyse as well as execute from a phone. Anyone who trades primarily on mobile should test this specifically before committing, because it lags the best apps in this category by a wide margin.
MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are both fully supported, which covers expert advisors, custom indicators and the depth-of-market and multi-timeframe tooling MT5 adds. Note the pricing difference: commission rises from EUR 5 to EUR 6 per side on the MetaTrader platforms, so automation costs 20% more per trade.
Libertex Invest, launched in 2024, is a separate account and effectively a separate product — a straightforward interface for buying real exchange-traded shares commission-free, without leverage.
One notable gap: there is no native copy trading through the EU-regulated entity, so social-trading features some competitors treat as standard are unavailable to European clients.
Markets and products
Libertex lists roughly 1,573 tradeable symbols — a mid-sized book, smaller than the largest CFD brokers but broad enough for most strategies:
- 46 forex pairs — a relatively short list, covering the majors and main minors but light on exotics
- 1,313 share CFDs, the bulk of the instrument count
- 109 cryptocurrency CFDs, a strong showing
- 23 ETF CFDs
- 25+ vanilla options products
- Index and commodity CFDs across the major benchmarks
The 46 FX pairs deserve a flag: if you trade exotic currency crosses, this is a materially narrower selection than competitors offering 65 to 125 pairs. For majors-focused traders it is a non-issue.
The more interesting development is Libertex Invest, introduced in 2024. This is a separate account for buying real, exchange-traded shares outright, commission-free — genuine ownership rather than a derivative contract, with standard market spreads applying and no inactivity fee. It is a meaningful addition, because it means the broker can serve both a leveraged trader and a long-term holder without forcing a second relationship elsewhere. The caveat is that its coverage is narrow next to a dedicated investing broker, and it does not extend to bonds or funds.
What remains unavailable: exchange-traded futures, bonds, and mutual funds. The vanilla options offering is small and should not be mistaken for a real equity options book — anyone running defined-risk or hedging strategies needs a different broker.
Account opening and funding
Account opening is fast and among the most accessible in the regulated European market. Registration is fully online, takes about ten minutes, and verification is usually completed within one business day.
The standout is the EUR 10 minimum deposit — one of the lowest anywhere under CySEC regulation, and low enough to test the platform with live money rather than only on demo. Note that secondary sources vary here, with some quoting USD 100; the EUR 10 figure applies to most payment methods on the European entity. An unlimited demo account is available regardless.
Funding is where this broker stops being cheap. Supported methods cover bank transfer and SEPA, credit and debit cards, Skrill, Neteller and PayPal, with base currencies in USD, EUR and GBP. The fee schedule:
| Method | Deposit | Withdrawal |
|---|---|---|
| Bank wire / SEPA | Free | 0.5% (min EUR 2, max EUR 10) |
| Credit / debit card | 2.5% (min USD 0.50) | EUR 1 flat |
| Skrill | 1.9% (min USD 0.50) | Free |
| Neteller | 4.0% | 1.0% |
| PayPal | — | Free |
The practical routing is obvious once you see it laid out: fund by bank wire, withdraw by PayPal or Skrill, and you pay nothing on either leg. Fund by card and you hand over 2.5% before you have placed a trade. Most users default to card because it is instant, which is precisely why this fee earns as much criticism as it does.
A EUR 10 monthly inactivity fee applies to CFD accounts after roughly 180 days without activity. The Invest account is exempt from it.
Research and education
Research is adequate and education is thin — neither is a reason to choose this broker, though neither is disqualifying.
The most substantial research asset is the integrated Trading Central feed, bundled into the platform at no extra charge. Trading Central supplies technical analysis, pattern recognition and directional signals across a wide instrument set, and it is a paid third-party product elsewhere. Getting it included is a real benefit for a technically driven trader who wants a second opinion on a setup.
Beyond that you get the standard package: market news, an economic calendar, in-house daily commentary across FX, indices and crypto, and reasonable charting on the web platform. Fundamental research is essentially absent — no analyst consensus data, no price targets, no equity screener worth the name. That is a clear gap next to competitors that have invested in a research layer.
Education is the weakest dimension of the whole offering. There is a library of articles and video explainers covering CFD mechanics, leverage and basic risk management, and periodic webinars. But it is unstructured — no sequenced course path, no progress tracking, no assessment — and it does not approach the dedicated learning products some competitors now ship. A complete beginner attracted by the EUR 10 minimum deposit will find the barrier to opening an account far lower than the barrier to learning to use it responsibly, which is an uncomfortable combination for a leveraged product.
The honest framing: Libertex gives you decent signals if you already know what to do with them, and very little help if you do not.
Customer support
Support runs 24/5, the industry norm, across live chat, email and telephone. Weekend cover is absent, which matters given the 109 crypto CFDs on the platform trade through periods when nobody is available to help.
Language coverage is a genuine strength — English, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Czech, Romanian and Arabic among others. That reflects the group's roots in Eastern and Central Europe under the Forex Club brand and its subsequent expansion across southern Europe and Latin America. For a German-speaking client, native-language support on a leveraged account is worth more than it sounds.
Service quality is reported as reasonable. Live chat is the quickest route and generally responds within a few minutes; email replies typically arrive within a business day. First-line agents handle funding, verification and platform questions competently, while questions about commission calculation, swap mechanics or entity-specific protections tend to need escalation.
Public sentiment is moderately positive but split across domains, which makes it awkward to read: the libertex.com Trustpilot listing carries roughly a 4-star average across about 9,500 reviews, while the libertex.org listing is smaller, and at least one aggregator places the blended average nearer 3.8 out of 5. We have seeded the community score conservatively at the lower end of that range.
The recurring complaint themes are predictable and consistent with the fee structure described above: surprise at the deposit and withdrawal charges, the inactivity fee arriving unannounced on dormant accounts, and dissatisfaction after margin closeouts. The first two are documentation problems more than service problems — the fees are disclosed, but they are not prominent, and users routinely discover them after the fact.
Frequently asked questions
It is a deliberate pricing model. Rather than widening the bid/ask spread and keeping the difference, Libertex quotes near-zero spreads and charges an explicit commission — EUR 5 per side per lot on its own platform, EUR 6 per side on MT4 and MT5. The advantage is transparency: you can see exactly what the trade costs before you place it. The disadvantage is that it does not make you money. All-in on EUR/USD comes to roughly 1.3 pips equivalent, which is mid-table rather than cheap.
Yes, on most methods, and it is the single worst part of the cost structure. Credit and debit card deposits carry a 2.5% fee (minimum USD 0.50), Skrill 1.9% and Neteller 4.0%. Only bank wire deposits are free. Deposit EUR 1,000 by card and EUR 25 is gone before your first trade. Withdrawals also carry charges on most routes — EUR 1 by card, 0.5% (min EUR 2, max EUR 10) by bank transfer, 1% via Neteller — though PayPal and Skrill withdrawals are free. Fund by wire, withdraw by PayPal or Skrill, and you avoid all of it.
On 3 August 2021 CySEC partially suspended the CIF licence of Indication Investments Ltd, the operator of Libertex, over possible non-compliance with rules restricting the marketing, distribution and sale of CFDs to retail clients. While suspended, the firm could not take on new clients, advertise its services, or accept new deposits from existing clients. CySEC recalled the suspension on 23 August 2021 after the firm committed to compliant marketing and continuous compliance monitoring. It concerned marketing practices rather than client money, and it lasted three weeks — but it is a formal regulatory action and worth knowing about.
Both. The core product is CFDs — 1,313 share CFDs among roughly 1,573 total instruments. Separately, Libertex Invest, launched in 2024, is an account for buying real, exchange-traded shares outright with zero commission and no leverage, at standard market spreads. It also carries no inactivity fee, unlike the CFD account. Coverage is narrower than at a dedicated investing broker and does not extend to bonds or funds, but it is genuine share ownership rather than a derivative.
EUR 10 for most payment methods on the European entity, which is among the lowest minimums available at a CySEC-regulated broker and low enough to test the platform with real money. Be aware that secondary sources disagree, with several quoting USD 100 — the figure varies by entity and payment method, so confirm it during signup. Also remember that funding a EUR 10 account by card would cost 2.5% in deposit fees, so bank wire is the sensible route at small sizes.
For execution, yes. For analysis, not really. The app is clean and beginner-friendly, but it lacks technical indicators and drawing tools that the web platform includes — a significant gap if you intend to read charts as well as place orders on a phone. If you are mobile-first, test it against your actual workflow on the demo account before funding, because it lags the strongest apps in this category by a considerable margin.
